| Sample Meals In this section, I am going to share with you some of my personal meal choices. Now, this isn't a comprehensive listing of all meals available. You're going to want to come up with your own choices, but these are just some of the meals that I personally enjoy. I've broken them down into breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. You may feel like mixing and matching. Above all else, strive to get some variety in your diet, and make sure you eat healthy! These meal selections are just the tip of the iceberg. I've started by putting my favorites down here, and I'll be adding more as time goes on. Spread Our Your Meals Remember our meal schedule. If you space out your meals throughout the day - including your snacks - every three hours, you're going to be less likely to binge when it comes time to eat. Eat every 3 to 4 hours! It's important for weight loss. Assuming you're on an 1800 calorie diet, you could do...
Ideally you want to spread your calories out as evenly as possible throughout the day into 5 or 6 small meals. Since this isn't practical for most people, aim for three good meals, and three good snacks. This will keep your metabolism running all day long. It takes about 3 hours for your body to digest a meal. Ideally you want to eat most of your calories in the morning and afternoon, but again, because of our society, most people eat the bulk of their calories at dinner time. OK, we can deal with that... but just try to spread out your calories as much as you can. Tip: I've found that if I eat my 200 calorie snack about an hour before dinner, I'm less likely to eat a ton of food at the dinner table, because I'm not coming to dinner really hungry! This is why we gorge when we starve ourselves. If you're going out for dinner, have a fat-free yogurt snack before you walk out the door. Don't skip meals! If you are on a different schedule than this (let's say you work 2nd shift) don't worry about it. Just plan your meals accordingly. Me, personally, I usually work until 3am and get up around 11am. I have a lite breakfast at noon, lunch at 3pm, dinner at 6pm, and then a snack at 9pm and midnight. In fact, humans appear to have evolved to eat every 3 hours. That's about the amount of time it takes your stomach to digest a "normal" sized meal and send the "hellooooo... I'm hungry again" message to your brain. Eating every three hours calms the savage beast in your belly.
